Basketball Game Preview: Gramercy Christian Warriors vs. Unity Christian Academy Warriors

Having just played yesterday, Gramercy Christian will get right back to it and host Unity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gramercy Christian will be strutting in after a win while Unity Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Gramercy Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Christian HomeSchool, taking the game 44-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Gramercy Christian can attribute much of their success to Kinley Butler, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points and three steals, and Emmy Cook, who posted 11 points and three steals. Butler's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Edwards, who scored four points.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian Academy had to start their season on the road last Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against Eastern Christian HomeSchool, falling 56-19. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Everything came up roses for Gramercy Christian against Unity Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the squad secured a 40-4 win. In that contest, Gramercy Christian amassed a halftime lead of 24-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
