Independence and Liberty are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Independence Patriots will square off against the Liberty Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Independence is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Summers County to the tune of 77-35 on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Patriots with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Liberty's game on Thursday was all tied up 33-33 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of WestSide. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Renegades recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Independence was able to grind out a solid victory over Liberty in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 62-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Independence since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
