Basketball Game Preview: Blevins Hornets vs. Lafayette County Cougars

The Blevins Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Lafayette County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blevins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Lafayette County likes a good challenge.

Blevins will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Nevada, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. Blevins secured a 72-68 W over Nevada on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lafayette County took on Taylor on Tuesday. Lafayette County took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor. The Cougars have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Lafayette County's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Blevins, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Blevins took a serious blow against Lafayette County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 63-36. Can Blevins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
