Pioneer Valley had won four straight games and Yahir Lopez did his part to make it five on Friday. Everything went the Panthers' way against the Bakersfield Christian Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win with plenty of help from Lopez, who had 14 digs and one assist. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

While Pioneer Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-18.

The victory got Pioneer Valley back to even at 14-14. As for Bakersfield Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Pioneer Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Reedley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bakersfield Christian, they will challenge Wonderful College Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
