Baseball Recap: Martin Luther Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Martin Luther came out on top against St. Catherine on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Spartans took their game against the Angels 10-7. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Angels: they've now won six in a row.

Brendan Scheel was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jady Colome, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jackson Boeshaar was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs.

Martin Luther pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs.
