Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Montgomery vs. Animo Leadership

The Bishop Montgomery Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Bishop Montgomery saw some tournament action on Monday. They and Van Nuys finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Animo Leadership fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Venice. The win was all the more spectacular given Animo Leadership's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 788th, while Venice are ranked 331st).

Bishop Montgomery's draw gives them a new season record of 3-5-3. As for Animo Leadership, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7-2.

Bishop Montgomery beat Animo Leadership 3-1 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
