Recap: Lake Marion Gators vs. First Baptist School Hurricanes
The Lake Marion Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by First Baptist School 83-40. Lake Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-11.
Despite the defeat, Lake Marion saw an underclassman step up: Harmony Mccaskill scored 20 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccaskill has scored all season. Rayleigh Davis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Lake Marion bumped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for First Baptist School, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Marion will face off against Bishop England at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop England will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak. First Baptist School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ashley Hall at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th.
