Santa Fe waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the La Serna Lancers. This was a revenge game for the Chiefs: when they faced off against the Lancers back in March, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Cassie Gonzalez tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Santa Fe's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 12-5-2. As for La Serna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Santa Fe will have a chance to go back-to-back against La Serna: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
