Softball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

If Eastern was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of West Union last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Fairfield Lions by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Warriors have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chloe Hauck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Fairfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.

Coming up, Eastern will be playing at home against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Williamsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
