It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Briar Woods ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Stone Bridge Bulldogs 3-2. The victory was all the more spectacular given Briar Woods' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Stone Bridge are ranked 18th).

Briar Woods' win bumped their record up to 5-2-2. As for Stone Bridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
