Starmount is 0-6 against West Forsyth since February of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Starmount 3.8, West Forsyth 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Starmount took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over East Wilkes.

Rachael Bates made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
Bates wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Mathis, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Carley Money, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, West Forsyth had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Titans have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Starmount, West Forsyth also got a great game from a two-way player: Meredith Casey. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Casey was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
West Forsyth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Tabor only posted an OBP of .143.
Starmount's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for West Forsyth, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Starmount has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Forsyth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Starmount might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from West Forsyth when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
