Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson-Morgan Rockets vs. Jeannette Jayhawks

For the second straight game, Jefferson-Morgan will face off against Jeannette. The Rockets will square off against the Jayhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson-Morgan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Jeannette will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Jefferson-Morgan extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Rockets walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Jayhawks.

John Woodward was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deakyn DeHoet, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Joe Bair also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Jefferson-Morgan's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Jeannette, they moved to 9-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
