Baseball Recap: Center Point Comes Up Short

Center Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mason Punchers, falling 21-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Center Point saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leighton Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Center Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mason, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Point will face off against Johnson City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mason, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harper at 6:30 p.m. on April 11.
