Basketball Game Preview: Greenforest Eagles vs. Jasper County Hurricanes

The Greenforest Eagles will face off against the Jasper County Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenforest will be strutting in after a victory while Jasper County will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Greenforest was able to grind out a solid win over Lamar County, taking the game 59-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Jasper County came up short against Southwest Atlanta Christian on Tuesday and fell 50-41. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Warriors are ranked 71st).

Greenforest's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Jasper County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Greenforest strolled past Jasper County in their previous meeting back in December of 2015 by a score of 51-37. Does Greenforest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jasper County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
