Volleyball Recap: Stagg Now 1-2 Since Winning 3 Straight

Stagg entered their matchup against Downers Grove South on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Chargers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Stagg sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final set scores came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-19.

Stagg lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Katy Zumerchik, who had 11 kills, seven digs, and a solo block. Amelia Kadamus was another key player, getting 11 kills and three solo blocks.

Stagg is now 6-3, having gone 1-2 since their three-game winning streak ended. As for Downers Grove South, they have now won five of their last six games on the road. That leaves them at a 3-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stagg will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Laurence at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downers Grove South, they will welcome Hinsdale South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
