Basketball Recap: Midlothian Takes a Loss

Midlothian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 53-34 bruising from the Byron Nelson Bobcat. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcat apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Belle Ratliff continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Byron Nelson, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Berkley Smith, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 18 points and seven boards.

Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Byron Nelson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Midlothian Panthers duke it out with the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Byron Nelson, they will take on Timber Creek at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Byron Nelson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
