Softball Game Preview: Webber Trojans vs. Red Hill Salukis

Webber is 0-3 against Red Hill since May of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Salukis at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Webber after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 23-3 to Johnston City.

Allie Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Bain, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Red Hill's offense. They came up short against Hutsonville/Palestine on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The Salukis haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Webber's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Red Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Webber suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Red Hill in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
