Volleyball Recap: Neshoba Central Comes Up Short on the Road Against Newton County

Neshoba Central had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Newton County Cougars. The Rockets have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Neshoba Central took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-22.

Newton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolbie Wansley, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Wansley a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Newton County and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neshoba Central will head out to take on Northeast Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newton County, they will venture away from home to challenge Kosciusko at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
