It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but DeLand ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Taylor Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since February 24, 2024.

Mimi Cabrera was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

The win got DeLand back to even at 9-9. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, DeLand is taking a road trip to take on University at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Taylor, they will welcome Crescent City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
