Basketball Game Preview: Vance County Vipers vs. Graham Red Devils

The Vance County Vipers will head out to square off against the Graham Red Devils at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Vance County is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Vance County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage, sneaking past 57-54. 57 seems to be a good number for the Vipers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Vance County can attribute much of their success to Nicola Thompson, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Destiny Timberlake was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Graham not only won back in December of 2025, but they posted their biggest win since December 3, 2024 (when they won 65-5). They really took it to Triad Math and Science Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-13 victory. The Red Devils pushed the score to 39-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bengals had little chance of recovering from.

Vance County's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Graham, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
