Softball Recap: South East Has No Trouble Against Huntington Park

South East won the last time they faced Huntington Park and things went their way on Friday too. The Jaguars were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Spartans. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.

Iliana Dominguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, South East got a massive performance out of Giselle Flores, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ruby Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

South East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for South East and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Huntington Park, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
