Baseball Recap: Letchworth Comes Up Short

Letchworth had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They came up short against the Le Roy Oatkan Knights, falling 15-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Legends of the 17-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Letchworth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Roche, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Le Roy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2. That 14-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Le Roy's side, Simon Greene made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Greene was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Le Roy let Brady McClurg and Jagger Smith run wild. McClurg went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs. Those three hits gave McClurg a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jude Christ, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Letchworth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Geneseo on the 7th. As for Le Roy, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-7 defeat against Wayland-Cohocton on the 7th.
