Softball Recap: Concordia Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Concordia Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roosevelt Teddies, sneaking past 7-6. With that win, the Beacons brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Concordia Academy got a massive performance out of Grace Madden, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Anna Halvorsen was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

The victory (which was Concordia Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Concordia Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Totino-Grace at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Aitkin at 11:30 a.m. The Teddies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gobblers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
