Covenant Day's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Ravenscroft by a score of 2-0. Given Covenant Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Ravenscroft are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Durham Academy was not quite Cannon's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Wins have been accumulating steadily for Covenant Day, who have claimed victory in four of their first five contests to sit at 4-1. The victories were made possible by their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matches. As for Durham Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3-1.
