Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Has No Trouble Against Ledford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Davidson, Oak Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ledford Panthers with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Carson Everhart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oak Grove is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Everhart was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Terry, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Max Hurt was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oak Grove's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Ledford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Oak Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
