Volleyball Recap: Wren Beats Greer for Their Ninth Straight Win

With a playoff win on the line, Wren rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Greer Yellow Jackets with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Hurricanes as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Wren not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Greer between 15 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-16.

Wren was led to victory by Libby Claire Yarborough and Rilyn Johnson. Yarborough had 12 digs and two aces, while Johnson had seven digs and one assist. That's the most aces Yarborough has posted since back in September.

Despite the loss, Greer had strong showings from Sophia Petrillo, who had 23 digs, and Adison Howard, who had 14 digs. Petrillo has been hot, having posted 21 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Wren's victory bumped their record up to 28-6-1. As for Greer, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-9.

Wren wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against York on the 29th. Greer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
