Baseball Game Preview: Little Miami Panthers vs. Milford Eagles

For the second straight game, Little Miami will face off against Milford. The Panthers will face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Miami knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Milford likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Little Miami made easy work of Milford and carried off a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Walker Brewsaugh looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Little Miami's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Grayer Williams was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Ian Sukup was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Little Miami kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Little Miami back to even at 9-9. As for Milford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
