Moshannon Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Rockwood Rockets. That's two games straight that the Black Knights/Damsels have won by exactly two runs.

Moshannon Valley's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Abernethy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Moshannon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Moshannon Valley pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rockwood, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
