Football Recap: Red Springs Takes a Loss

After soaring to 36 points the game before, Red Springs was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to the South Columbus Stallions. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Despite the loss, Red Springs still got an impressive performance from Chase Boone, who threw for 241 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 62 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Red Springs and nudges their season record down to 2-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-2 South Brunswick (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.9% over those games). As for South Columbus, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Springs will face off against West Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Columbus, they will challenge South Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
