Football Recap: Tayte Giesige's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bluffton over Western Reserve + How To Watch

Bluffton and Western Reserve squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bluffton had to settle for second. They fell 36-31 to the Roughriders. The Pirates have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Bluffton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayte Giesige, who threw for 123 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards. Robby Taylor made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Bluffton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zayden Manlove and Taylor. Taylor got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bluffton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Western Reserve, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Bluffton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Reserve, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hopewell-Loudon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Roughriders will need to watch out since the Chieftains have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
