Volleyball Recap: Monticello Sages vs. Clinton Maroons

With a playoff game on the line, Monticello rose to the challenge on Monday. They beat the Clinton Maroons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-0. The win was nothing new for the Sages as they're now sitting on five straight.

Monticello never let Clinton on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17.

Monticello's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Finet, who had four digs and 14 assists. With that strong performance, Finet is now averaging an impressive 12 assists per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Melton, who had nine digs.

Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-13 record this season. As for Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season.
