Baseball Recap: Horizon Honors Triumphs

It was a Battle of the Birds when Horizon Honors took on Veritas Prep on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-3 win over the Falcons. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Horizon Honors' win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reid Tworek, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Tworek a new career-high. Another was Max Miller, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Horizon Honors' record is now 10-4-1. As for Veritas Prep, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Horizon Honors is taking a road trip to take on Camp Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Veritas Prep, they will be playing at home against Phoenix Country Day at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
