Bruceville-Eddy has gone 8-1 against Chilton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles will challenge the Chilton Pirates at 11:30 a.m. Bruceville-Eddy has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Last Tuesday, Bruceville-Eddy was beaten by Axtell 60-25.

Meanwhile, Chilton hadn't done well against Moody recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Chilton had just enough and edged Moody out 39-36. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Bruceville-Eddy better focus on containing Mariyah Suiters and Novia Coleman as the pair were huge in Chilton's win. Suiters dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals, while Coleman went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Suiters is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatiyanna Sanchez, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Bruceville-Eddy's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Chilton, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-9.

Bruceville-Eddy strolled past Chilton when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 55-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bruceville-Eddy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
