Football Recap: Tiftarea Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tiftarea Academy can now relate to. They were beaten by the Westfield School Hornets 42-6 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Case Jones threw for 78 yards on eight of 15 attempts. Seth Royal was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards.

Westfield School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stone St. Clair, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 30 yards and one touchdown. What's more, St. Clair posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. Another passer making a difference was Brock Johnson, who threw for 241 yards and one TD.

Tiftarea Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Westfield School, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Tiftarea Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westfield School, they will head out to take on Deerfield-Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
