Volleyball Recap: McClain Tigers vs. Wilmington Hurricane
McClain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Wilmington Hurricane, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.
Alaya Jackson paced McClain's offense, picking up five kills. Jackson got some help from Brooklyn Bolender and her six assists. Lillie Saunders controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Wilmington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kynlei Cramton, who had seven aces and three digs. That's the most digs Cramton has posted since back in August. Anna Niemesh was another key player, getting 18 assists and five digs.
McClain's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Wilmington, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
McClain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Washington on the 23rd. As for Wilmington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Western Brown on the 23rd.
