Softball Recap: Bishop O'connell Beats Paul VI for Their 35th Straight Win

Bishop O'Connell put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Paul VI Panthers with a sharp 10-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in March.

Abby Bond was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ari Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Bishop O'Connell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paul VI only posted an OBP of .222.

Bishop O'Connell pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Paul VI, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Connell will take on Bishop McNamara at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paul VI, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Flint Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
