Baseball Recap: Lowville Triumphs

Lowville won the last time they faced Watertown and things went their way on Friday too. The Red Raiders came out on top against the Cyclones by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Raiders.

Aiydan Waugh and Isaiah Spence were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Waugh pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Spence tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At bat, Waugh went 2-for-3 with one run, while Spence went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Spence is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brycen Villiere, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolton McGrath, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Lowville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Watertown, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Watertown will host Lyme Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lowville will be paying especially close attention to the Cyclones' game: after the Cyclones face off against the Indians, they'll take on Lowville again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
