Basketball Recap: Newnan Takes a Loss

Newnan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morrow Mustangs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Mustangs are ranked 255th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morrow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andre Jernigan, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Shaun Davis, who had 12 points.

Newnan's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Morrow, their record is now 8-17.

As of now, neither Newnan nor Morrow have any future games scheduled.
