Basketball Recap: Burney Takes a Loss

Burney played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 53-22 loss at the hands of the Los Molinos Bulldogs. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Despite the defeat, Burney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore James Fields posted nine points and eight boards. That was a full 40.9% of Burney's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Burney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Los Molinos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.

Coming up, Burney will look to defend their home court on Friday against CORE Butte at 6:30 p.m. Burney is facing CORE Butte at the right time seeing as CORE Butte is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Los Molinos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
