Meanwhile, Lee County lost 20-3 to Terry Sanford on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Landon Miles was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Stanfield, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Lee County now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Cape Fear, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
