Basketball Recap: Curtis Vikings vs. Bethel Bison
After flying high against Yelm last Friday, Curtis came back down to earth. The Curtis Vikings had to suffer through a 66-27 loss at the hands of the Bethel Bison. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bison are ranked 37th).
Bethel found their leader in sophomore Timari Fruster, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Fruster is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aanjili Sanehi, who posted 13 points.
Curtis dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bethel, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Curtis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-48 victory against Graham-Kapowsin on the 9th. As for Bethel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-28 loss against Emerald Ridge on the 9th.
