Baseball Game Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. Schuylerville Horses

The Amsterdam Rams will square off against the Schuylerville Horses at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Amsterdam will be strutting in after a victory while Schuylerville will be coming in after a defeat.

Amsterdam's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Gloversville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rams have posted against the Huskies/Dragons since May 21, 2021.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Schuylerville's offense. They fell just short of South Glens Falls by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Horses in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Schuylerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Renner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Amsterdam now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Schuylerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1.

Amsterdam came up short against Schuylerville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 16-12. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
