Recap: Scott's Branch Eagles vs. Carvers Bay Bears
The Scott's Branch Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carvers Bay. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Scott's Branch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Kind, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyren Bowman, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Scott's Branch has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Carvers Bay, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott's Branch won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Johnsonville at 7:45 p.m. on January 17th. Johnsonville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Carvers Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Hemingway at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hemingway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
