Football Game Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. Barstow Aztecs + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Jordan Johnson and Nicholas Gaoa are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Palm Springs Indians will take on the Barstow Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Palm Springs comes in on three and Barstow on eight.

Palm Springs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by Hart 22-21. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Indians were the better team in the second half.

Bishop Miller produced another solid performance rushing for 25 yards and one TD, while also catching one score.

Meanwhile, Barstow won against Serrano last Friday with 34 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Aztecs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat La Canada 34-6. The result was nothing new for the Aztecs, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Barstow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rayshawn Thompson, Degan Cardenas, and Aloalii (AJ) Lealofi picked up one apiece. Quentin Hunter was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing two fumbles, and making six total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Palm Springs' record now sits at 11-1. As for Barstow, their record is now 8-3.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Palm Springs has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Barstow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 208.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
