Softball Recap: Shady Spring Has No Trouble Against Pikeview

It was a proper cat-fight when Shady Spring took on PikeView on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 9-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Raegan Lane made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lacy Osborne, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Raban, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Shady Spring now has a winning record of 5-4. As for PikeView, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Shady Spring will square off against Scott at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for PikeView, they will challenge Greenbrier East at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
