Basketball Recap: Mariah Farmer Key Part of a Team Effort in Stingrays Win

Sumner won the last time they faced Robinson and things went their way on Friday too. The Sumner Stingrays enjoyed a cozy 69-54 victory over the Robinson Knights.

Sumner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Farmer, who posted 18 points and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Camryn Jeter, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Sumner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robinson only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Robinson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Annie Keith, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 25 points and seven rebounds. Keith continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last six games she's played. Niamaya Fraser was another key player, going 6 for 15 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Robinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Sumner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-37 win against Chamberlain on the 28th. Robinson has also already played their next matchup, a 51-45 defeat against East Bay on the 28th.
