Basketball Recap: Decatur Community Skates Past Logan/Palco with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Decatur Community). They really took it to Logan/Palco for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-20 victory. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brylee Minnick, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Minnick is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elsie Larson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points along with five boards and four steals.

Decatur Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Decatur Community's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Logan/Palco, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Decatur Community will venture away from home to challenge Oakley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur Community's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Oakley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Logan/Palco, they will host Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
