Baseball Game Preview: Langtree Charter Academy Lions vs. Christ the King Crusaders

Langtree Charter Academy is 1-9 against Christ the King since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Langtree Charter Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Langtree Charter Academy faced off against Corvian Community on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Easton Roschke was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Gelpke, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Christ the King is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Langtree Charter Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Christ the King struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts.
