Nobody could stop Gehrig Orchard on Tuesday as he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and only one walk). As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with eight or more strikeouts. For the season, he has an ERA of 2.12 over 40.2 innings pitched.

Orchard's strong effort led Provo over Payson and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are 7-2 against the Lions going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
