It was a good run, but Parkside unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 72-61 to the Takoma Academy Tigers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Parkside lost, don't look at Colby Murphy. Despite the final result, he posted 28 points. That was a full 45.9% of Parkside's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daiquan Smith, who earned ten points.

Parkside's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9. As for Takoma Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkside has already played their next game (against KIPP College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Takoma Academy will challenge Southern Maryland Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Maryland Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season.
